Davis County Health Department
Lewis Garrett is the Director and Local Health Officer of the Davis County Health Department. His current duties include responsibility for the overall direction of the administrative, clinical, and environmental functions of the Health Department. He supervises Directors of the Family Health & Senior Services Division, Environmental Health Services Division, Communicable Disease & Epidemiology Division, and the Department Business Manager.
Before coming to Davis County, he served for seven years as the Family Health Services Director for the Salt Lake Valley Health Department (SLVHD) in Salt Lake County. Prior to this, he served as the Associate Director of Family Health Services in SLVHD, as a medical provider at the Utah State Corrections Department, along with several public health positions while serving in the United States Air Force.
Garrett completed his undergraduate degree in nursing at Brigham Young University and his master’s degree in public health at the University of Texas.
