Programs

The Davis County Jail offers Educational, Religious, Life Skills, and Substance Abuse programming to its inmates.  As a correctional facility we provide the opportunity for our residents to gain knowledge in all aspects of life. Individuals who attend programming display a more positive behavioral pattern.  They learn skills to cope with stress and challenges of daily life and in turn gain self respect and self responsibility.  When an individual is released from jail, often it can be a frightening experience.  If the individual has no education or life skills they cannot become a productive member of society.  In all probability they will continue to commit crime and return to the criminal system.  However, if the same individual is released from jail with a high school diploma, job skills, pro-social values, and a higher power to rely on, the individual can more easily function in society with a chance to change their lifestyle.  Our expectation is that through programming our residents can gain the knowledge they need to successfully live among the community.  We will always continue to strive to reduce recidivism and repetition of criminal behavior.
