Motors

Traditionally, motors have been used in law enforcement as an aid for community oriented policing. They are used primarily for traffic enforcement and usually receive fewer complaints than standard officers. The motors are a dynamic approach to assist in large gatherings such as city functions and parades.
A grant issued by the federal government and other private entities assisted in the purchase of the motors. They were purchased from the American based company Harley Davidson. A local Utah company outfitted the bikes with a police package. Each motor is also equipped with paramedic gear to allow for medical response.
The community is generally interested in admiring and taking a closer look at the motorcycles. This opens up conversation and provides an opportunity for the motor squad to become familiar with the community which benefits both law enforcement and the public. Safety and an advanced form of security have been instilled in the community.
Each bike is a 2009 Harley Davidson Electra glide with an 1800 CC displacement that echoes a proud emblem of the Sheriff’s Office and what the country stands for.
