Special Services is the "catch all" division. These staff members are
probably the least visible to the public but work tirelessly. They are
responsible for the police vehicle fleet, training, information services,
the DARE program, emergency services, Search and Rescue operations, plus
the building and grounds surrounding our offices. Without them we could
not operate as we do. In addition, Special Services also oversees the
Communications Center. This enhanced emergency 911 communications center
provides dispatching services to 12 of the 15 municipalities in Davis County.
The center is the primary facility for 14 law enforcement agencies, eight
fire departments, four first response units, three medical services, and
the primary emergency operations communications center in the event of a
disaster. The center also doubles as a secondary dispatch service for a
number of public works agencies along with state and federal organizations.
