Who Can Get the Vaccine Now?

Beginning March 2nd we expect to start vaccinating Davis County residents 65 and older and those over 16 with Specific Medical Conditions.

Healthcare workers, first responders, and K-12 teachers and school staff continue to be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Medical Transportation: Those who need assistance with transportation to the vaccine clinic should schedule their vaccine appointment on a Tuesday or Thursday. After scheduling a vaccine appointment, call 801-525-5050 and select Option 1 to arrange transportation.

Homebound: Those who are homebound can call 801-525-5050 and select Option 5 to be added to our homebound list to receive the COVID vaccine. Our Community Health Workers will call them to schedule their first appointments and will make follow up calls to schedule second dose appointments with them.

Davis County follows the Utah Coronavirus Vaccine Timeline for vaccine distribution.

HELPFUL
Electronic Tax Notice

The Davis County Treasurer office now offers Electronic Tax Notices. If you sign up for the Electronic Tax Notice you will not receive a paper tax notice in the mail.

These usually go out the third week of October. If property owners make the change online before September 1, there will be enough time to receive the notice sent to your email address.

The electronic notice is NOT the same as electronic payments, and the taxpayer/property owner must sign themselves up for security reasons.

New Jail Medical Observation Unit
On a snowy day in February, Davis County Sheriff's Office, Davis County Commissioners, Davis County Facilities, Archiplex Group, and Hogan & Associates Construction gathered for a quaint ceremonial groundbreaking of the new Medical Observation Unit, which will be built adjacent to the Davis County Correctional Facility.

“We are caregivers for those entrusted to us,” said Sheriff Kelly V. Sparks. “The new medical observation unit allows us to provide even greater care, support, and treatment to those who are struggling with physical and mental health issues.”

The Medical Observation Unit replaces the Correctional Facility's current medical wing, which opened in 1991 with the intent of addressing minor medical needs only. The unit will have the capacity to serve 23–26 individuals; nearly four times the current capacity (six medical cells). Additionally, the Medical Observation Unit is designed to isolate and treat inmates with communicable diseases (e.g., tuberculosis, COVID-19, etc.) onsite.

Estimated completion time is 12 months.
