Animal Care of Davis County (ACDC) is the only animal shelter in Davis County. It accepts all animals, regardless of their temperament or health. The current shelter, built in 1985, has gone through renovations over the past 39 years, but still does not meet industry standards.

To ensure that ACDC can continue to serve and educate our community, find homes for homeless pets, and support public safety, the time has come to build a new animal shelter. A feasibility study was completed last year and ACDC is currently moving forward to get proposals for construction of a new facility with groundbreaking expected later this year. This project will be funded by Davis County through savings from the capital fund. Read more here:

Safe Kids Day - June 1st

Safe Kids Day is a free, educational safety fair complete with fire trucks, games, characters meet-and-greets, and fun for the whole family! Come learn about countless safety and health topics like helmets, sports safety, pedestrian safety, car seat safety, mental health resources, healthy habits and emergency preparedness. Visit Intermountain Health’s famous Teddy Bear Clinic and have a chance to receive a free helmet (first come first serve basis, while supplies last).

Free In-Home Services for Families with Children

Davis County Health Department provides free home visitation services for families with children ages 0-8. Registered nurses offer development screenings, community resources and support in the comfort of your home. The program is free for all Davis County families, no insurance or income verification required

The Davis County Health Department is looking for youth (ages 16-19 with a current learner's or driver’s license) interested in helping reduce the sale of tobacco to underage buyers.

Youth will receive a small stipend and practice developing communication and social skills while working with health department staff and Davis County law enforcement. Experience may be used for resumes and college applications.
