CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
img

The Legacy Events Center is quickly transforming into the new Western Sports Park, altering the skyline in West Farmington. If you have driven on Clark Lane, south of Station Park, you have seen the new 120,000-square-foot building rise up just north of the existing Legacy Center Arena. Between these two large arenas, the Western Sports Park will offer nearly 200,000 square feet of event space with fixed seating for 5,000 people. It is a massive undertaking by the County that will fill a need for a regional youth sports complex and bring tens of thousands of visitors to Davis County each year.

The construction is proceeding well with the expected completion in early 2025. The contractor, Layton Construction, has overcome major hurdles of groundwater, rain, and heat. The outer shell of the new arena is nearly complete and work on the inside is progressing rapidly. The walls are up, most of the plumbing and electrical is installed and the massive heating and cooling systems are beginning to take shape. The existing Legacy Center arena is also being updated with new wall coverings, new paint and new heating and cooling. In addition to these new and updated structures, the outdoor dirt arena is also getting rejuvenated. The outdoor arena space is being turned into a championship grass field and will be in play as long as weather permits. All of these facilities will allow the Western Sports Park to be a year-round sport tourism destination for many years to come.
