The Davis County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Program supports crime victims and witnesses by helping them navigate the criminal justice system and respond to their emotional, physical, and financial needs. Victim Services are available to help victims cope with the aftermath of victimization and to lessen the inconveniences often associated with participation in the criminal justice process.
Services provided by victim advocates at the Davis County Sheriff’s Office are unique to each individual and their situation. The primary focus is the immediate physical and emotional safety of the victim. Our advocates respond directly to victims' needs after a crime has been committed and assess their needs to determine appropriate services. Services provided by our advocates may include:
- Crisis Intervention
- Safety Planning
- Information and Referral Services
- Accompaniment to Forensic/Medical Examinations
- Case Notifications and Updates
- Information and Assistance with Obtaining Protective Orders and Stalking Injunctions
- Assistance in Filing for Crime Victim Reparations Compensation
