America 250 - DAR Plaque added to Courthouse

The Sego Lily Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a Patriots Marker that will be placed in the Davis County Memorial Courthouse. A dedication of the plaque honoring Revolutionary War patriots will be held at the Davis County Memorial Courthouse on February 18th at 3:00 PM.

Sheriff's Dashboard

The Sheriff's Dashboard showing jail demographics, booking information, criminal history, and more is now available on the Davis County public website. To access the dashboard go to the Sheriff Department page, and then into Corrections. The direct link is below.

The dashboard was an initiative of the Davis County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.


Reentry Fair

Another initiative was the weekly Reentry Fair, which has now been going for over 2 years on Thursdays from 11 AM to 1 PM at Davis Behavioral Health, 380 South 200 West, Farmington. This Resource Fair is for all people 18 and older who desire to access in-person help for services.

Resilience Symposium

In-Person participation is full but online attendance is still available. Everyone who registers will receive a link to the video taping of the symposium.

Throughout the winter until April 30th on any night when the temperature is predicted to be below 18 degrees, any individual experiencing unsheltered homelessness can go to the Davis County Warming Center from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Free Tax Help

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers free income tax filing help for people with low-to-moderate income. For locations and times to receive help with tax filing and for other information about this service, click here. (link to pdf)

FEBRUARY
This time of year Davis offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun including snow hiking, snow biking and tubing. You can also enjoy ice skating at local rinks or take a scenic drive to see the snow-covered landscapes.

It's not too early to start planning your vegetable garden. Join Master Gardener Jim Teahan for tips on starting a garden from seeds that will provide a bounty of produce throughout the year. Saturday, February 8 at 10:30 am at the Kaysville Branch Library (215 N Fairfield Rd., Kaysville).
