The Great Salt Lake Nature Center at Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area is a great place to observe four different types of habitat: upland, emergent marsh, big open water, and riparian. These marshy wetlands are a waterfowl sanctuary. Bald eagles winter near Farmington Bay and are a very popular sight for photographers, birders, and the general public. Not often can you get this close to the living symbol of our nation.

The two main trails located at Farmington Bay are known as Waterfowl Walk and Wetland Experience. These easy, pleasant trails provide bridges over marshy areas and observation decks with benches for sitting, waiting, and enjoying the birding experience. They are peaceful forays perfect for families and are wheelchair accessible.

Some areas close depending on the bird-nesting season. Please observe the posted instructions for access.
