Curtis Koch - Davis County Clerk/Auditor

Biography:

Curtis Koch was elected to the position of Davis County Clerk/Auditor in 2014 and took office in January of 2015. Curtis began working for Davis County in 2002.  Prior to his election, he held the positions of Assistant Director, Director of Procurement & Contracts and Chief Deputy.

Curtis began working in the Clerk/Auditor’s office in 2010 and was appointed Chief Deputy of Audit & Finance in 2012. Serving in this capacity gave him experience in all of the major functions and responsibilities of the Clerk/Auditor’s office including budget, finance, audit, records management, purchasing and elections. 

In 2001, Curtis graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  In 2008, he completed a Masters of Business Administration from Weber State University. He has continued to dedicate himself to furthering his education by earning his Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification from the Association of Governmental Accountants, as well as becoming a graduate of the Advanced Government Finance Institute from the Government Finance Officers Association/University of Wisconsin.

Curtis and his family reside in Layton.  In their spare time they enjoy skiing, running, biking and hiking.

Heidi Voordeckers - Chief Deputy

Biography:

Heidi was appointed Chief Deputy, Clerk Auditor in April 2015. She has nine years of experience in local government finance, serving as Finance Director/Recorder for West Bountiful from 2009 to 2014 and as Assistant Finance Director/Deputy Recorder for the City of Bountiful. Prior to her work in local government finance, Heidi spent 13 years working in private sector finance.

Heidi holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah and is a Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM). Her responsibilities in the Clerk/Auditor’s office include oversight of finance and audit as well as tax administration.

Heidi is originally from California and moved to Davis County in 2005. She is married with three children and enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and reading.

Brian McKenzie - Chief Deputy

Biography: Brian was appointed Chief Deputy, Clerk/Auditor in May of 2016. He began his career with Davis County in 2004 as a Microfilm Technician in the Clerk/Auditor’s Office. After two years he sought additional learning opportunities in the office and took a position as an Election Technician. Since 2006 Brian has continued to be involved in the Election Administration field and was the Election Manager for the County prior to his appointment as Chief Deputy.

Brian is a Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA), which is the country’s highest professional achievement an election official can attain. Brian also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Brian is responsible for the supervision of the Clerk functions of the department which include acceptance of passports application, issuing marriage licenses, managing county records retention and public access (GRAMA), administering elections and serving as the Clerk of County Commission. 

Brian stays busy outside of work spending time with his family, serving in his church, gardening, and camping.
