Alaa Aljaleel, an ambulance driver in Aleppo, Syria, stays behind in his country, even when it goes to war. He is concerned about all the abandoned cats and starts buying them food. Word spreads and donations come in from all around the world. Alaa builds a sanctuary for cats and is even able to provide a playground for children and a well for the people in Aleppo.
