Knight Owl
by Christopher Denise

Owl has only had one wish since he hatched--to be a knight, so he is ecstatic when he gets accepted to knight school. An excellent student, he graduates with honors (even though he has some trouble handling a sword). But it is when he is on Knight Night Watch, he proves his valor and ingenuity. Fun word plays and wondrous illustrations. Young listeners will shiver with fright and delight when they see the dragon in this book.

Little Houses
by Kevin Henkes

Illustrated by Laura Dronzek. Henkes and Dronzek have done it again. If you loved their quartet of seasonal books (In the Middle of Fall, When Spring Comes, etc), you'll love Little Houses. It's about all the questions you might ask as you explore the seashore. Have you ever wondered how deep the ocean is or how far a shell has traveled? Have you wondered how the water can be blue and gray and green and silver and white and black all at the same time? Walking on the beach is a good time to ask yourself these questions.
