Collection: 158,835 items (as of December 2005)
The South Branch Library was opened in 1969. Originally, a senior
citizen's center was located on the east side of the lower level.
In 1977 the senior citizen's center moved. In 2000, the space was remodeled
for use as a children's room. With the opening of the children's room in
October 2000, the South Branch Library provides 24,000 square feet for
public service, which includes on the lower level an auditorium which seats
250. The South Branch offers a quiet study room on the north side of the
building. The branch houses the largest collection in the Davis County
System. The collection at South Branch stands at more than 158,000 items.
