Jail Information The Davis County Jail has the legal obligation to care for inmates held in custody. The Davis County Jail, including the Work Center (a separate facility that houses Work Release and Work Detail Inmates), has a combined average daily population of around 800 inmates. In 2016 the Davis County Jail booked 9,524 inmates.
Virtually all aspects of jail operations are subject to careful oversight. The Utah Sheriff's Association sets the standards for jail operations, and the Davis County Jail is inspected annually to ensure the standards are being met. Additional oversight is provided by the Utah State Department of Corrections, U.S. Marshals Service, Davis County Environmental Health, Medical Authorities and State and Local Fire Marshals.
