Jonathan Lee has been the Chief Deputy Treasurer since October 2014. Jonathan began working for taxpayers of Davis County in March 2004. Prior to coming over to the Treasurer’s office, Jonathan was Davis County’s Finance Director. He was also the Chief Deputy in the Clerk/Auditor’s office from 2004-2012.
Jonathan holds a M.B.A. degree with an emphasis in Accounting from San Francisco State University. His undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering with minors in Math and Physics from the University of Utah.
Jonathan's diverse work experience also includes working as a Technical Consultant for the Utah Division of Public Utilities; Senior Functional Analyst for Northrop-Grumman Corporation; Senior Staff Accountant at Novogradac, Fortenbach & Co., CPAs; and as an Electronics Engineer at the Ogden Air Logistics Center.
Jonathan is a licensed CPA in the State of Utah. He is also a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and a graduate of the Advanced Government Finance Institute, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jonathan is also a member of the AICPA, Utah Government Finance Officers Association, and Utah Association of Government Accountants.
As a member of the county Treasurer’s team, Jonathan strives to make sure that property tax payments are properly accounted for and credited to each party’s account, as well as, also refunding over-payments back to the rightful owner. In addition, the office performs full function banking and accounting duties for the County, including, but not limited to, revenue receipting; reconciliation of accounts; distributions to taxing entities; refunding over-payments and abatements; processing state motor vehicle, railcar, and centrally assessed collections; investing of public funds; daily banking; monthly, quarterly, and year end reporting; fraud prevention; and other various responsibilities related to a multi-million dollar organization’s operation.
Jonathan grew up in Bountiful, spent 8 years in California, and have resided in North Salt Lake since 1996 with his wife and three boys.
