What is a certified food safety manager?
A food safety manager is a supervisor or manager with the authority to direct and control food preparation and service that has successfully completed an approved food safety manager course. State law requires that each food service establishment is managed by at least one full-time certified food safety manager.
In order to become a certified food safety manager in Davis County you must successfully complete a food safety manager course from an approved provider and have the documentation available at the food service establishment. This documentation will be requested during health department inspections and entered into a database to complete the certification process.
The Davis County Health Department does not currently offer the food safety manager training. To see approved providers for the class, visit the Utah Department of Health website.
