Participants will learn how and why biologists use fine “mist” nets for trapping small birds, proper safety and handling of birds, and how birds are measured, weighed, and banded.

Description

Participants will learn how and why biologists use fine “mist” nets for trapping small birds, proper safety and handling of birds, and how birds are measured, weighed, and banded. They will also learn how the data is used for bird conservation. Participants will have the opportunity to assist in handling and photo ops with the birds before they are released back into the wild. Best Management Practices will be in place to assure the safety and well-being of both the bird and the participants.
