Located on the outskirts of West Ogden off of 24th Street, Fort Buenaventura is a lovely location near Weber River for all kinds of birds on its 84 acres. The fort was the first permanent Anglo settlement in the Great Basin and provides well-established lawns and trees. This trip involves walking around the pond and birding along paths near the river. The large pond provides a stopover area for many gulls and waterfowl, and the surrounding trees and fields support many songbirds, owls, and other birds with close viewing opportunities.
