The Centerville Branch opened in 2006 and at 10,000 square feet includes an auditorium, conference room, quiet study space and internet pc’s for public use.  It has a well-rounded collection of books, audio books, films, music and magazines to suit a wide range of reading tastes.

The design of the library is reminiscent of historic buildings in Centerville, most importantly the front door that features a circular arch modeled after the front door of an old Centerville School. The library and the Porter Walton Park line up exactly.  The interior finishes of the library feature unique art pieces along the interior fascia depicting rural life.  Beautiful stained glass windows throughout the interior and a children’s room that feels like a garden due to the wonderfully rendered tree that spreads out into the room are all thanks to a generous grant from the Simmons Family Foundation.

The building has a warm and cozy feel with beautiful wood finishes and comfortable seating throughout encouraging reading and relaxing. With Wi-Fi connectivity and easy to access location it is a great place for individual study and exploration as well as providing a community gathering space offering weekly storytimes for children and a variety of family activities.
