Bio:
Crystal’s ideal setting would be a fenced yard for daytime and a soft blanket in the garage or house at night, with older teenagers or adults who are loving. She is very low-maintenance. - crystal was born in sandy, summer 2016, and we've owned her since she was a pup. Father was a king charles spaniel (pure breed with papers) and mother was an australian shepherd (pure breed with papers), and crystal’s litter was the result of an accidental coupling. - as a puppy, she went on runs without leash. Once grown, she needed thick leash due to her drive and strength. She loves to run even now, and enjoys the mountains as well as neighborhood runs. In her younger days, she was frequently a "sled-dog" to a daring teenager on a skateboard. - she has experience as a working animal, and protected farm animals from foxes, raccoons, rats ect - she has successfully worked alongside goats and sheep, but would not be a good fit with chickens. - she enjoys spending time outdoors year round, including playing in snow. She comes in at night in the winter, but tends to enjoy staying outside in fair weather. We suspect she may need to be inside at night more as she ages. - she moved to fruit heights in 2019, and has since enjoyed retirement in a fenced yard. - she loves having a job, and has learned several “tricks”. She observes boundaries well with consistent reinforcement. - she often prefers attention and love over food. She has been trained not to be aggressive around food. - she plays nicely with certain dogs which have been introduced properly, but seems a bit unpredictable recently and can be territorial. - she is potty trained and has never peed indoors since a puppy. - she needs extra comfort during thunderstorms and fireworks. - australian shepherds are known to become somewhat unpredictable as they age and lose their senses.
