We invite students and families to attend our Opening Night Social, where the student art will be showcased, and awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each age category. There will also be an award presented for the Best of Show. We encourage all participants to come out and participate in our opening social. Light refreshments will be served.

Following the student art awards on Friday, May 17th, all students are invited to stay and attend a FREE art workshop with local artist, Colleen Palmer.

Feathers & Ink: Crafting Birds in Comic Art with Colleen Palmer

Dive into the whimsical world of comics - with birds! Join us for a unique workshop by local Salt Lake City comic book artist Colleen Palmer who will teach you the basics of making comics, and then guide the class through a one-of-a-kind drawing session where you’ll create a short comic together! By the end of the presentation, you'll have mastered the essentials of comic creation, along with imaginative techniques to transform realistic birds into stylish illustrations.

Bring your sketchbook and pencils and get ready to draw! Supplies will be provided if you don’t have your own or are just getting started.
