Fielding Garr Ranch at Antelope Island State Park

New to 2026, bird a popular migrant stopover at Fielding Garr Ranch on Antelope Island.

Description

Bird a popular migrant stopover at Fielding Garr Ranch on Antelope Island.  Birds crossing the west desert drop into the Ranch’s grove of giant cottonwood trees as the first green spot they see. The area offers several springs and trees with plenty of insects. Possible species include migrating warblers, vireos, flycatchers, owls, falcons, hawks, woodpeckers, and Virginia Rail. Bring your binoculars, bug spray, sunscreen, and water. Participants may stay after the field trip for a self-guided tour to explore the museum, exhibits, and historic buildings still standing on the ranch today.

*Ticket includes head net and park entry.

Please plan travel time accordingly with an estimated 45 minute drive from the Antelope Island State Park entrance booth to your destination of Fielding Garr Ranch.
