Electric Vehicle Replacement Assistance Program (EVRAP)

The Electric Vehicle Repair Assistance Program provides financial assistance toward the replacement of gasoline or diesel powered light-duty vehicles with all-electric vehicles.  This financial assistance is made possible through an EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant and is being administered by the Davis County Health Department in partnership with the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.

Recent studies have shown that vehicles utilizing fossil fuels produce approximately 50% of the air pollution along the Wasatch Front.  This assistance will help incentivize the residents of Utah to retire their older or failing gasoline and diesel fueled vehicles with zero-emissions electric vehicles.  Using electricity to power vehicles rather than fossil fuels will help improve public health and the environment by reducing air pollution.  Electric vehicles rely on stored energy in batteries and electric motors to power the vehicle rather than a combustion engine.  This means they will have less moving parts and lower maintenance costs.  Furthermore, electric motors are generally much more efficient than conventional combustion engines, and will have lower energy costs.  Modern technologies have improved the battery life and capacity of electric vehicles, with many models being able to get hundreds of miles on a single charge.  With the more recent popularity of electric vehicles, charging stations have become much more prevalent as well.  If you have been thinking about getting an electric vehicle, now may be the time!
