Flu Vaccine Recommendations

  • People 6 months of age and older
  • Pregnant women
  • People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, such as heart disease, asthma, and cancer
  • People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
  • People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from the flu, such as healthcare workers and caregivers

  • Nasal spray (mist) for 2 years to 49 years
  • Flu shot for 6 months to 64 years
  • Flu shot for 18 years & older (egg allergy)
  • High dose for 65 years & older

There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive the flu vaccine for anyone who has health insurance listed above. Uninsured individuals 18 years older and younger may be eligible for reduced-cost (VFC) vaccine.
