A complex trail system has been built in the past few years, including connecting trails from Mueller Park and North Canyon. We will start this hike on the North Canyon side but will cross into areas along the Mueller Park trail. This trail system is fantastic and offers an excellent birding experience. In addition to the birds, the views of the surrounding areas, and the overlook of the Great Salt Lake, are breathtaking. Because of the lush riparian habitats, many of the birds we encounter will be heard more often than seen. We will spend plenty of time listening and learning bird calls and songs. To encourage camaraderie among participants, the group size is kept small so we can work together to spot birds and share in the joy of nature. With an elevation gain of about 2,000 feet, be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks to stay energized. The estimated trail distance is about 8 miles. This trip is perfect for couples and friends to enjoy together, offering a fun and engaging learning experience.

* Please consider your fitness level, due to the distance and elevation gain, this trip should be considered only by those who can comfortably complete a strenuous mountain hike.
