Birding the Great Salt Lake by Kayak for Kids

Calling all bird-loving kids! Bring your favorite adult on an awesome aquatic adventure to look for avocets, gulls, ducks, and more.

Description

Calling all bird-loving kids! Bring your favorite adult on an awesome aquatic adventure. We'll begin our expedition at the Antelope Island State Park Marina where we'll go over kayaking safety before heading out on the water to look for avocets, ibis, grebes, gulls, phalaropes, ducks, and more. 

Adult kayaks can support up to 250 lbs. Youth kayaks can support up to 100lbs. All participants must be able to pilot their own kayaks (no lap sitting) and are required to wear provided life jackets. Minimum participant age is 8 years old. Each adult can accompany no more than two youth ages 8+. 

Weather Permitting. This trip is dependent on water levels.


*Registration for this trip will include 1 adult and 1 youth ticket. Additional youth tickets may be purchased in advance as space allows for $40 by reaching out to GSLbirdfest@daviscountyutah.gov. Ticket includes park entry, head net, kayak, and life jacket rental.
