Birding by Impression: Dale Rosselet
Join educator, author and birdwatcher Dale Rosselet for an introductory session on “how to look at birds”. Are you perplexed by a fleeting glance? Do you puzzle over spotted or striped crowns and wingbars? Does your head spin when you attempt to identify warblers or sparrows? Learn how to look at birds a little bit differently. Passionate about birds, bird ID and increasing people's enjoyment of natural spectacles, Dale's insights will make you a better birder. The best part? Everything you learn can be applied to any bird. This 1-hour indoor program outlines the process that she and her husband, Kevin Karlson, pioneered in their book, Birding by Impression.

The Shorebirds of North America: A Natural History and Photographic Celebration: Kevin Karlson
This title of a recently released book by Princeton University Press (July 2024) by Kevin Karlson and Pete Dunne is the topic of this uplifting presentation. Similar to the book, the fascinating world of North American shorebirds is covered in a light-hearted and factual manner and accompanied by the most stunning and descriptive photographs ever assembled. From the strange, secret world of the high Arctic tundra, where many shorebirds choose to breed, to the remote wintering grounds that span several continents, countless stories of survival and challenging interactions with nature and man are shared. After experiencing this program, your impression of this unique bird family will never be the same.
